Conservation / Restoration
The main task of the conservators / restorers of the HAM Foundation is to gradually work on areas such as inventory, preservation, restoration and documentation of the collection’s comprehensive material objects.
The focus is primarily on the idea of maintaining and / or improving the function of objects as information carriers. The aim is to preserve original material as possible and to stabilize and secure it with age-resistant, reversible and positively affecting the durability materials.
Objects that are no longer to be saved prior to expiration are immediately digitized and archived. Thus, information losses can be avoided. On the following page we present you some projects in the field of conservation / restoration in detail.
